I have been in private practice for over 10 years specialising in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I offer short and longer term therapy covering many common issues including anxiety depression, panic attacks, grief/loss, chronic physical illness, stress and effects from recent and past trauma or chronic pain.

I can effectively treat a significant number of problems that are situational with short term CBT Therapy and/or Counselling focus. Where issues are deeper or symptoms are reoccurring however, longer term therapy may be needed.

In these cases I supplement CBT using modules such as Schema Therapy to address influences from core beliefs and behaviours adopted through childhood or more recent traumatic events. I also use Mindfulness and other therapeutic interventions based on my Counselling degree and training over the years. I may also adopt principles and techniques from (DBT) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to promote emotional regulation and distress tolerance.

I hold a Bachelor of Counselling and Post Graduate Cert in Health Science (CBT). I am also a full member of the NZ Association of Counsellors.
